I didn't have any of the ingredients that were stated for making this but managed somehow.

Postcard "A"

This is another swap we did, a postcard Teesha style with a raised letter "A".
I know my partner received this one but I haven't received mine in return yet.
This is one I really enjoyed doing.

 

The background I used is one of my teabag tiles printed off large.

Solace

We had a journal page swap called "Solace" which is part of an all year theme of "Nature's Blessings".
Solace and comfort for me is the sea and with the waves coming in. I love the noise and it seems to take all your troubles back out to sea with it again, so I made a sea scene, or tried. I haven't used acrylic paints before and I can see by my results that I was a bit heavy on the colour and so you can't really see all the layers I've made underneath.
I do hope my partner receives it, yet again, been en route for a while.

 

I'm hoping that practice makes perfect in my mixed media projects and that i can make a better job of the next one.

This is the one I received from my partner and I love the simplicity and the softness of it.

Flowers in her hair

Snowy day today so have time to get up-to-date........
This was my final try at the canvas we had to swap "Flowers in her hair"

My partner has now received it, and this is the one I received from my partner and I was pleased to see that it is similar to the one I made, as I was reluctant to part with mine, it being my first canvas.

So busy with Christmas things but still found time to dapple and try out some mixed media. Thought I'd practice on an ATC size. Theme is Flowers in her hair which I have to do a 6" x 6" for a group swap. First time I've done anything like this and now I know what I have to change for the real thing.

I've also had to do my first journal page swap.........a big step for me, but it's good to get out of the comfort zone.
This page had to have the theme - "A generous Heart". Here is my page and although I'm not totally satisfied with it, will leave it as is and see what the others do for theirs. As this is my first, can only get better.

I have joined a mixed media group which I'm enjoying and it's really pushing me into crafting which is good.
Here is a tag I had to do for a swap called "Elephants can fly"

I love tags and must say I really enjoyed doing this once I started. I crumpled the tag and sponged with ink and sprayed with a little water. After ironing it out to try to flatten it, I used a stencil and some modelling cream. Had no idea what to do for a flying elephant so chose to make it pink and used some butterfly wings I had, added some brown burlap to earth the whole thing again and added an appropriate saying.

Eggshell technique

Looks like I haven't been active for a while......I'm not so good at keeping up-to-date with blogs, journals etc.
Here are some things I've been working on lately.
This is an ATC called "Broken hearts" which was a theme in a group I'm in.

I used the "eggshell technique" which I learned from a friend called Hilde Loch. 
Eierschalen Recycling ATC .

I made a few more from this technique for a Mosaic swap.
